A senior officer who rushed to the help of a fellow officer that got attacked by a knifeman has been awarded the Monarch's Honor for Courage.

Sergeant Tim Ansell fought with 27-year-old Jacob Brown following he held a weapon to the throat of his partner Sgt Marc Foster.

Brown initiated the assault as the law enforcement personnel and their partner, PC Marcus Wolstencroft, were talking to a motorist after a traffic accident in that location in summer 2023.

Brown knifed and cut the two Sgt Ansell and Sergeant Foster before PC Wolstencroft stopped him with a electric weapon.

"Officer attacked," the officer stated over his communication device.

Officer-mounted and vehicle camera recording released by the police department showed Brown, that was clothed in black with a hood covering head, rush to Sgt Foster from behind with a knife outstretched.
